    Making a difference...

The school and orphanage is financed almost entirely by The Poor & Needy Benefit Trust. It is amazing to realise that for just £20 (plus Gift Aid) per month a child can be fed, clothed, educated and be part of a loving family. Many of the children are sponsored by our generous supporters who not only finacially support a child but will also correspond with them and send the occasional gift. Words can't describe the joy a child gets when they are told they have a sponsor who will support them. Many of the children still have no sponsor and if you would like to fill this need then please contact us.

    From hopelessness to hope...

This part of India is hard to describe and from photographs it's impossible to comprehend the utter poverty from which the children have somehow survived. When the children are taken in to the hostel they are given clean clothes, a healthy diet and clean water and are educated. Siblings are kept together.

A future where the was none...

It is immensely rewarding to see young children arriving with no education whatsoever and leaving, up to eleven years later, able to speak good English, read, write and be well educated in mathematics, history, geography, sciences, etc... The school achieves very high exam results, which means that when they leave many are accepted into higher education where they later become nurses, doctors, teachers, government workers and other professional roles.

    Loving the unloved...

It's (rightly) very easy for our heart stings to be plucked by the sight of young orphans with wide eyes who have no hope. At the other end of the age-range, with equal needs, are the many elderly widows who have no family to care for them. The hostel currently houses and cares for about 30 such widows. As well as being cared for, they help to look after the orphans, giving them each a meaningful role in the hostel.
